So, as I watched Todd Cady's video, it occurred to me that there is a handy feature that I'd like to see on the earl. The nature of most of these E-Ink style displays is that they retain their contents even when power is cut off. This was illustrated even in that video when Jon held up the disconnected screen to show it's flexibility. So, what I want to see are refreshes of data, like weather, news text messages from the radio or otherwise, sent to the screen at regular (programmable to different spans of time) intervals. So the device briefly turns on the screen, updates information, then shuts off. So, you can pick and choose information that is always present and relatively up to date, even if the battery dies. I'd say there's a good chance this is already being worked on, but if it isn't I'd like to see it.
